Gill Catchpole's Death Ruled Suicide
Long-time Partner Found Dead in January
James Morrison's late fiancée Gill Catchpole died by suicide, an inquest has ruled. The 45-year-old businesswoman was found dead by Morrison at her home in Whitminster, Gloucestershire, on January 5 of this year.
Catchpole, a mother of two, was discovered unresponsive at the house she shared with the 39-year-old "You Give Me Something" hit-maker. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The inquest into Catchpole's death was held at Gloucestershire Coroner's Court on Tuesday. The hearing heard that Catchpole had been suffering from depression and anxiety in the lead-up to her death.
Assistant Gloucestershire Coroner Roland Wood recorded a verdict of suicide. He said: "I am satisfied that Gill Catchpole took her own life and that she intended to do so."
Morrison, who was not present at the inquest, paid tribute to Catchpole following her death. He said: "Gill was a wonderful mother and a loving partner. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her."
